I can choose to squander my time or I can choose to use my time wisely. I have been teaching my children about patience and how to sit and be still. I have been listening to some tapes debating baptism lately. Paedo-baptism is the baptism of infants and Credo-Baptism is only the baptism of believers. It is funny how we categorize ourselves. One might say that they are reformed, credo Baptist, baptistic, Presbyterian, Quiver full. We categorize ourselves by our personal beliefs. Are we only the sum total of our view points or is their more to who we are beyond all this theological rhetoric. I am just so ready for simple biblical truth. I love the Proverbs when it speaks of wisdom. Proverbs 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction. 8 Hear, my child, your father's instruction, and do not reject your mother's teaching; 9 for they are a fair garland for your head, and pendants for your neck. 20 Wisdom cries out in the street; in the squares she raises her voice. 21 At the busiest corner she cries out; at the entrance of the city gates she speaks: 22 "How long, O simple ones, will you love being simple? How long will scoffers delight in their scoffing and fools hate knowledge? 23 Give heed to my reproof; I will pour out my thoughts to you; I will make my words known to you. 24 Because I have called and you refused, have stretched out my hand and no one heeded, 25 and because you have ignored all my counsel and would have none of my reproof, 26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when panic strikes you, 27 when panic strikes you like a storm, and your calamity comes like a whirlwind, when distress and anguish come upon you. 28 Then they will call upon me, but I will not answer; they will seek me diligently, but will not find me. 29 Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of the Lord, 30 would have none of my counsel, and despised all my reproof, 31 therefore they shall eat the fruit of their way and be sated with their own devices. 32 For waywardness kills the simple, and the complacency of fools destroys them; 33 but those who listen to me will be secure and will live at ease, without dread of disaster." I don't want to be simple and stupid but I do want the complexity stripped away so that with childlike faith I can believe. I pray for wisdom for my children and for my family.

These are our three children Toby Zane and Sophia

Yesterday

Yesterday I went to the toy store with my children and my wife. I had a great time eating out and spending time with them. Before I made the ultimate decision to go to the Toy store. I wrestled with my boys and just had a great time with them. I had the bright idea of going to the store to buy them Light Sabers. We had been playing in the back yard for some time with plastic bats and broom sticks. I bet everyone knows how that turned out. One brother clobbering the other with a plastic bat is no fun at all especially when I am away at work and they are playing all by themselves in the back yard. Well I decided early that day that I would go out and buy the real thing and oversee our play sword fighting only when I am home. I am wondering how all of this will play out.
